Getting Ready for Lent & Easter
Join us on a Lenten Journey
- Lenten devotional – A Journey Into Wholeness: Soul Travel from Lent to Easter,
- a blog series by the same name
- a pre-Lent retreat, Return to Our Senses In Lent
- and a new set of prayer cards (available soon) focused on our journey through Lent
All these resources invite us to address brokenness within ourselves and our hurting world and be transformed.
With a focus on social justice, sustainability and simple living as an expression of faith, these Lenten resources strive to provide a unique viewpoint that fosters creative thinking, providing practical help in transforming our lives as we journey through the season.
Prepare for Lent at the Mustard Seed House
Back by popular demand we will once again host an all-day pre-Lent retreat, Return to Our Senses in Lent, March 1st, at the Mustard Seed House in Seattle. Come prepare your hearts and establish spiritual practices for Lent.
Journey With Us Through Lent
Our new book and related blog series, A Journey Into Wholeness, features daily reflections and weekly practices that engage issues of inner brokenness, homelessness, poverty, creation stewardship and church disunity.
Al Tizon, co-president of Evangelicals for Social Action, says:
Journey is not spirituality for spirituality’s sake, as if to encourage some kind of evangelical-
mystical navel-gazing. On the contrary, we’re invited to go deep within ourselves where Christ transforms us in order to become agents of transformation in a desperately needy world.
The Lenten blog series on Godspace will provide additional Lenten resources, prayers and daily reflections that compliment the book. These posts, featuring a wide range of insightful contributors from around the world, begin Ash Wednesday.
It is our hope that these Lenten resources will be a great asset for both personal reflection and group study, helping people not only take Lent more seriously but to take the journey of God and the purposes of God more seriously.
